The handywoman Backstrap table is my version of an 18th century loom that I fell in love with.  This is an updated version of that loom.  I decided to make this loom table height at around 27" for a more comforable weaving experience.  The heddle on this loom is a  generous 13" tall x and 8.67" wide.    This one is made from Walnut and Birdseye Maple and the heddle is a curly maple and is a double hole pattern.   This loom has a hand rubbed oil finish and is smooth with a nice sheen.  Your new loom also comes with squirrel shuttle so you can start weaving right away.
