Mayan / Navajo Blade Spinner

The wood will vary on these Mayan / Navajo spinners.  They are 6 7/8 long with a spinning rod slightly shorter. 
These blade hand spinning tools that's easier to learn to use than a drop spindle but just as portable. This spinning device was  used by the Mayans as well as the Navajo's. It can be used to ply two yarns together as well as to spin. It is a slow process making yarn but it is very portable and you can spin while sitting in the passengers seat in a car very easily. The spinner blade is very portable and, unlike a drop spindle, can be used in a relatively small space, such as when sitting on a train or as I mentioned in a car, you can spin just about anywhere.
