Shop Closure Notice November 1 2026 to January 4 2027 Last Chance for Christmas Orders
The holiday season always arrives faster than expected, especially when a special gift needs to be ordered, packed, shipped, and tucked under the tree on time. This year, there is one important date to keep in mind: the shop will close on November 1, 2026, and reopen on January 4, 2027.
That means the last day to place regular shop orders before the holiday break is October 31, 2026. You will still be able to purchase gift certificates that can be used once the shop is open on January 4.
This longer seasonal pause gives us time to step away, rest, and spend the holidays with family and friends. It also helps avoid the stress that often comes with shipping during the busiest time of the year, when delivery times slow down and packages can sometimes go missing.
If you are planning Christmas gifts, please order early. A little extra time now can make December feel much calmer.

The shop will close on November 1, 2026
Our seasonal closure begins on November 1, 2026. From that date through the holiday break, regular shop orders will not be processed or shipped.
The shop will reopen on January 4, 2027, and regular ordering will resume then.
Here are the key dates to remember:
Date | What happens |
October 31, 2026 | Last day to place regular shop orders before the holiday closure. All orders will be made and shipped by 11/07/2026. |
November 1, 2026 | Shop closes for the holiday season and only gift certificates can be purchased. |
January 4, 2027 | Shop reopens and regular ordering resumes |
Our Holiday closing dates are being shared early so there is plenty of time to plan ahead, especially for Christmas gifts that need to arrive before the holiday rush.
If a gift is time-sensitive, please do not wait until the final days of October. Ordering earlier gives everyone more breathing room, from creating and preparing your order to getting it safely into the mail.
Please place Christmas orders early to avoid disappointment
Christmas shopping can feel simple in September or October. Then December arrives, calendars fill up, and shipping deadlines suddenly feel much closer than they did before.
Because the shop will be closed during November and December, Christmas orders need to be placed by October 31, 2026. That is the last order date before the break. Waiting past that date means your order will need to wait until the shop reopens on January 4, 2027.
Why the shop is taking a holiday break
This closure is not because we love being away from the shop. It is because the holidays are one of the few times of year when life slows down enough to be fully present with the people we love.
From November 1, 2026, through January 4, 2027, we will be stepping away to spend time with family and friends, enjoy the season, and recharge before beginning a full new year in the shop.
Running a small business like takes care, attention, and a lot of hands-on time. Every order matters. Each message, package, and detail deserves proper attention. During the holidays, it becomes harder to give that level of care while also being present for family traditions, travel, gatherings, and simple quiet time.
Taking this planned break allows the shop to return in January rested and ready, rather than stretched thin during the busiest and most unpredictable shipping season of the year.
Thank you for understanding. Many customers have supported this shop through busy seasons, quiet seasons, and everything in between. That support means a great deal, and this break helps keep the work joyful and sustainable.
Holiday shipping can be unpredictable
Shipping during the holidays is difficult for everyone. Postal carriers and delivery services handle a much higher volume of packages, weather can slow down routes, and processing centers often take longer than usual to move parcels through the system.
Even when a package is mailed on time, delays can happen once it leaves the shop. That part is outside any small shop’s control.
During the holiday rush, customers may see:
Slower tracking updates
Longer delivery windows
Packages sitting in one location for several days
Delivery scans that appear late
Weather-related delays
Packages marked as delivered before they are found
Rare cases where packages are lost in transit
No one wants a carefully chosen gift to feel stressful. When a package matters, waiting on tracking updates can take the fun out of giving it.
That is one of the reasons for this extended closure. Rather than accepting orders deep into the busiest shipping period and hoping everything moves perfectly, we want to be honest about the challenges that can come with holiday delivery.
Ordering before the shop closes gives your package more time to move through the system. It also reduces the chance that your gift gets caught in the late-season backlog that often builds closer to Christmas.
What to expect if you order before October 31
Orders placed on or before October 31, 2026, will be handled as ususual by making your selected weaving tool and getting it shipped out as early as possible. Your order will ship no later than 11/7/26.
If you have a question about an item, timing, or gift planning, please ask away. I am happy to help you with any questions you may have.
Gift certificates will be available
If you miss the ordering window, or if you are not sure what someone would choose, gift certificates will be available for purchase. You will find the link to the gift certificates on the "About Handywoman" page.
Gift certificates make a thoughtful option when timing is tight. They also give the recipient the fun of choosing something for themselves once the shop reopens.
Gift certificates may be purchased as holiday gifts and used when the shop reopens on January 4, 2027. They are especially helpful for:
Last-minute holiday gifting
Long-distance friends and family
Recipients with specific tastes
Anyone who enjoys choosing their own item
A thoughtful gift when shipping feels too risky
A gift certificate can also take pressure off the giver. There is no guessing, no worrying that the package will not arrive in time, and no need to choose on someone else’s behalf.
If you love the idea of giving something from the shop but are not ready to pick the exact item, this is the easiest holiday option.

What happens when the shop reopens on January 4, 2027
The shop will reopen on January 4, 2027. At that point, regular ordering will resume, and gift certificates can be used for new purchases.
Reopening after the holiday break gives us a fresh start for the new year. Orders placed after reopening will be handled in the order they are received. If there is a little extra activity at the start of January, thank you in advance for your patience.
For customers using gift certificates, January is a lovely time to choose something without the pressure of Christmas shipping deadlines. There is time to browse, decide, and place an order when the rush has passed.
If you are giving a certificate as a Christmas gift, it can be wrapped in a card, tucked into a stocking, or paired with a small personal note. Sometimes a simple message makes the gift feel even more special, such as:
“I wanted you to choose something you truly love when the shop reopens in January.”
That kind of gift still feels personal, even when the final choice is left to the recipient.
Thank you for planning ahead
We know holiday shopping can be a lot to manage. Between family plans, travel, school events, work schedules, and all the little details of the season, dates can sneak up quickly.
That is why this notice is being shared early and clearly:
The last day to place regular shop orders is October 31, 2026.
The shop will be closed from November 1, 2026, until it reopens on January 4, 2027.
Gift certificates will be available and can be used when the shop reopens.
If you are planning a Christmas order, please place it early. If you are unsure what to choose, a gift certificate is a warm and simple option.
Thank you for your kindness, patience, and support. Being part of your holidays is always meaningful, and this planned break will make it possible to return in January rested, grateful, and ready for a new year of orders.
